What happened? Your guess is as good as ours. The only explanation we can get is that the server switched and wasn't referencing the correct databases. At least that's the technical explanation. Could it also be that the minions of certain hauntings were unhappy with the opinions of the OL'ers, maybe. We may or may not ever know. Looks like a lot of posts were lost, and it doesn't appear as though they will be recovered so go ahead and get your threads going again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ok, so maybe we weren't clear enough. We don't know why the October Lounge went down. Would we like to think it was an underhanded plot by disgruntled haunt owners against the OL'ers and their opinions? Sure, but we don't know that to be true. Could it be a system glitch? Sure. We really don't know, so please stop the emails, your guess is as good as ours. So while we're on the subject, what's your guess? Surely some of you are creative and could share your thoughts on the subject.
I'll jump in as my first post (first time poster, long time lurker)... I'd have to guess that it was a mischievous leprechaun who misplaced his pot o' gold and decided to take it out on the good people of the October Lounge.

Knowing a thing or two about the interwebs (by that I mean how to efficiently search for porn while pretending to work... make sure you type in the "Y" in youtube.com, if you forget that's NSFW, that one is a freebie) I have a theory:
It seems kind of suspicious that when I reposted Rev. Noch's review of the 13th Door (or maybe it was Curse of Slaughterhouse Gulch or 25th Alien or my opinion: All of the candyland attractions) that the site goes down is pretty conspicuous timing. However, undeterred, I thought his review was so spot on that I feel it is my moral obligation to throw it back up here (and wait and see if the site goes down again):

As I said before, it wasn't exactly this, but close enough to get the idea.

That sounds as reasonable as anything else that will inevitably come up here. Welcome aboard! :D

Yes it did...for quite a while before the bottom fell out of it. but when it did come crashing down, well, we all know the rest.
So, if not the rain Perm, what shall it be? Balloon Boy? Termites? The sad thing is that any one of these could feasibly show up here....LOL
We could see some interesting conspiracy theories crop up.
Here's my stand...I don't know what happened and I don't care what happened. I'm a critic and have no control over the running of HD or OL so I can say for a fact that I didn't do it. As long as it wasn't my bad, and it wasn't, I don't care. If somebody did take the OL out because they didn't like what was being said, then shame on them. Karma is a major drag!

I stand corrected. It did work for Milli Vanilli, but that trainwreck was one of the worst in my memory (but I was the tail end of that craze, listening to them at Skate City).

Yes, it worked for a minute or two and then the train fell ridiculously hard off the tracks. Skate City...wow, now we're in the way back machine!!

It's probable...giant Jiffy Pop floating around disrupts satellite signals thus interrupting servers everywhere. Yeah, I'll take that one with a big shot of butter and salt!
